概要：村井吉敬さんが1982年に出した書籍『小さな民からの発想』は、インドネシア（西ジャワ）の話と日本（高知県西土佐村）の話がめくるめく繰り広げられながら、村について、生業について、工業について、交通について、そして消費についての思索が深められていく、という不思議で魅力的な本です。村井さんはどうして、そしてどうやって、こんな本を書いたのでしょうか。村井さんのこの本に至る足跡、そしてその後の足跡を追いながら、「小さな民」から「発想」することの意味を考えます。
