◆第1回「特集ドキュメンタリー　埋もれた報告～熊本県公文書の語る水俣病～」（1976年）

開催日：2023年10月31日（火）19:00-21:00　
講師：桜井均（映像ジャーナリスト・元ＮＨＫディレクター／プロデューサー）
概要：1970年代前半、「若者の反乱」を反映してテレビの表現にも変化が起こった。茶の間の静寂を破ることがドキュメンタリーだという考えが生まれても不思議はなかった。1972年の「海鳴り」や73年の「キャロル」はそうした番組だった。しかし、その表現が「客観性に欠ける」という理由で、NHK内で否定された後、この挫折から一歩先に進むために、つまり表現の自由を死守するために、現場では、誰にも文句を言わせない「調査報道」の手法が取り入れられた。「埋もれた報告」の取材班は、突撃インタビューなど取材プロセスをあえて見せる手法を駆使して、水俣病が闇から闇に葬られてきた歴史を白日のもとにさらした。
