◆第1回 水俣病事件を旅する

講師：遠藤邦夫さん（水俣病センター相思社）
概要：私は水俣病被害者でもなければ、水俣病加害者でもありません。支援者と呼ばれたスタンスなのですが、私にはしっくりきませんでした。発生確認から66年が経過した水俣病は、個人の健康被害・社会被害をもたらし自然環境を破壊した公害事件です。「門前の小僧習わぬ経を覚える」ように水俣病に接してきた私にも、考えること・思うことが湧き上がってくるのが水俣病事件です。闘争の時代から地域再生が優先課題となった現在、私は水俣病が水俣最大の資産と考えています。それが可能になるためには、住民が被害者の痛みに寄り添うことが条件となります。それは同時に、住民の痛みも溶かしていきます。
