◆第4回中国における台湾と台湾における中国：台湾の民主主義が直面する現代的課題

概要：1992年に中華人民共和国と中華民国（台湾）の代表者が公式会談を行って以来、台湾海峡両岸における商業・投資・文化学術交流および人の往来がますます活発化し、大陸と台湾の人々が広く共有する相互に絡み合った経済と市民社会が形成されてきた。こうした交流の速度と利便性は、過去数十年にわたり両政府間の関係浮沈に伴い変動してきた。本講演は、深化する中国・台湾関係が今日の台湾政治に及ぼす影響を考察する。過去10年間の世論調査では、特に2022年のウクライナ戦争勃発以降、「現状維持」か「独立」のいずれかを支持する意見が大多数を占めているが、「現状維持」の解釈と追求の方法は多岐にわたる。台湾の主要政党はそれぞれ独自の解釈を有すると自認しており、それゆえ中国や日米同盟に対する姿勢も異なる。より広範な市民社会組織もまた、「台湾における中国と中国における台湾」という問題に対して異なる見解を持っている。好戦的な立場を取る組織もあれば、平和主義的な組織もある。さらに多くの組織は、両政府が設置した国家安全保障機構によって設けられた障壁を乗り越え、中国本土の市民社会との有意義なつながりを築くためにできる限りの努力をしている。
