◆第5回ジェンダーと国連：国籍法改正と私

概要：みなさんは、1985年に国籍法の改正があったことをご存知ですか。改正以前、国籍法の不平等さゆえに多くのミックス(mixed-race)の子供たちの人権が侵害されました。1979年、国連で女性差別撤廃条約が採択され、日本は1985年にその条約に批准し、国籍法が改正される流れとなります。実は、その裏には、沖縄の女性たちの力強い女性差別との闘いがあり、未来の沖縄への熱い思いがあったのです！そして、私も国籍法の改正に影響を受けた1人です。女性差別撤廃条約に批准するにあたり、日本には大きく３つの課題がありました。本講座では、その一つである国籍法に注目し、改正が何をもたらしたのかを私の経験を交えてお話ししたいと思います。
